Infinite Movement (I.M.) is a newly founded dance crew founded by Mellisa Kwok, a recent dance graduate who is eager to share her ideas. I.M. currently consists of 7 members: Alita Powell, Cassandra Macdonald, Kara-lyn Fredrickson, Jennifer Chippett, Talia Woodland, Kevin Mclachlan and Mellisa Kwok. Their love of dance has brought them all together to show their community how much dance means to them.

Mellisa Kwok, the director and founder of Infinite Movement, was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and has been dancing since 1998. She danced at Leaping Feats Creative Danceworks for nine years training in almost every style of dance including: hip hop, modern, ballet, jazz, contemporary and more. At the age of twenty-three she has already performed at national and international events such as the Arctic Winter Games in 2006, as part of the cultural contingent, the closing and opening ceremonies for the Canada Winter Games in 2007 and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. After graduating from high school, she moved to Toronto to pursue her life long dream of becoming a professional dancer. She has recently graduated from York University in April 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, in dance. Since moving to Toronto she has auditioned to multiple performance opportunities and has even landed a music video appearance, as a backup dancer, for Universal Music’s “Operator” by Shiloh, which has been aired on Disney’s Family channel, Much Music and MTV.

Kevin McLachlan was born and raised in Whitehorse and began dancing in the summer of 2009. He trains mainly in the style of Breaking but also in other street dance forms such as Hip-Hop, House, Popping, and Locking. He has also done Tap Dance and has even begun to teach Breaking along with Locking at Leaping Feats. He has performed in many events and competitions around town including Arts in the Park and Arctic Winter Games for Greenland’s cultural contingent. He loves dance and Infinite Movement is a chance for him to continue his passion with street dance and to become the best dancer he can be.

Jennifer Chippett, dancer in EMYS and Infinite movement, was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. she is currently 14 years old and has been dancing for about 8 years, and is still going! She's trained at Leaping Feats for the past eight years and plan on dancing until she graduates high school. She trains in many styles of dance including: hip hop, jazz, modern, ballet, contemporary, and more. She has had many opportunities to dance with very talented dancers such as, Sarah Brinson, Sho Tyme, Lil C, Twitch, Luther Brown, and more!  Jennifer loves to dance and hopes to one day have a career in dance.

Kara-lyn Fredrickson was born and raised in Whitehorse Yukon and is 15 years old. She is a going into her 3rd year as a senior dancer in Extremely Moving Youth Society and has been dancing since she was 7 years old. She trains at leaping Feats at least 16 hours a week in tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and modern. She also takes workshops in other styles such as popping, locking and house and has traveled to dance in festivals, compete, and train with amazing guest teachers. Kara-lyn enjoys being in class and hopes to teach dance in the future. Kara-lyn loves to dance, train and perform! She plans to continue dancing until she graduates high school and hopes that dance will be a part of her life forever.
